Reds Reveal Lineup for Trip to Hong Kong

Liverpool are jetting off again, this time to Hong Kong where they’ll first meet Crystal Palace and then play either Leicester City or West Bromwich Albion as part of the Premier League Asia Trophy. The lineup for the games had been a mystery for a while, but Liverpool have finally released the list.

And, as always, it’s worth noting who’s made that list and who hasn’t. Sadio Mané, who is still recovering from his knee surgery earlier this year, will obviously not be making any appearances but neither will Mamadou Sakho and Lazar Marković, both of whom have giant question marks next to their futures at Anfield. Last week, Klopp had said he was waiting for Sakho to get 100% fit before he made any kind of decision regarding his future, but it’s getting harder and harder to believe that decision hasn’t already been made.

Marković, like Sakho, has been strongly linked with a move away from Anfield and his omission from the Hong Kong trip seems to indicate that the club would like to make a deal as soon as possible. Alberto Moreno, who has also been heavily (oh so heavily) linked with a move away from Liverpool, will be in Hong Kong however. It’s doubtful that this indicates a change of heart on Klopp’s part, but it will be interesting to see how the left-back performs if he does get some minutes in.

We’re obviously still not ready to talk about Lucas Leiva and why he’s not on that list, so no one bring it up, please. At least not for another month.

The Liverpool players we’ll be seeing in the Asia Trophy: Karius, Clyne, Wijnaldum, Lovren, Milner, Firmino, Coutinho, Salah, Gomez, Henderson, Sturridge, Grujic, Klavan, Moreno, Lallana, Mignolet, Origi, Solanke, Matip, Stewart, Flanagan, Kent, Ward, Woodburn, Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool will play Crystal Palace on Wednesday, July 19th at 1:30 PM BST and 8:30 AM EST.
