Liverpool and New Balance have just released images of the new away kits for next season. Our sources say they should come in a variety of sizes.

Another year, another set of Liverpool kits. Today Liverpool and New Balance have announced the new 2017/18 away kits with all the deals, fanfare and harkening back to history that they can muster.

The design is said to be “inspired” by the first ever Liverpool kits way back before most of you were even born in 1892. Those first kits were blue. Well, the shirt was half blue and half white. These new ones are green and white and do that checkerboard pattern. But there’s a twist. The color is rendered with thin, vertical lines of green instead of a solid block. It’s subtle and a nice touch to soften the green from distance.

In fact, the further away from them you get, the more you don’t even think about the green. Like, if you never saw one again, that green just disappears from memory all together. Quit blowing our minds, New Balance.

But to really experience the new away kits you’re going to need slow motion walking montages of the players wearing them. I know you don’t think that you do, but you do. There is some smiling from Daniel Sturridge and Emre Can, but mostly the players stuck to the pensive-looks theme of the photoshoot.

For TLO’s very serious marketing research purposes, give us your say on the new away kit in the poll below.
