Jordan Henderson will not feature in the England squad that will be named next week, Klopp has confirmed. He will miss Liverpool’s next game at the Etihad, as well as both of England’s upcoming games against Germany and Lithuania.
"The international break, these two weeks, can bring him back, but there's no game possible," Klopp said about Henderson’s recovery period.
"He cannot train and, for sure, [he cannot] play against City. Then I think it makes sense that he is doing the rehab, and hopefully he can run in the week or in the second week of the international break. Then we have to see."
Henderson has sat out the last three matches as a result of the injury sustained during training.
Joining him in recovery over the international break are Sturridge (with a hip injury that closely followed his bout of flu), Lovren (with a back problem), and Firmino (who’s still recovering from the knock he took against Arsenal), amongst others.
The break will be a good respite to allow the team to recover, but Klopp is not too worried about what this means for upcoming fixtures.
"We have struggled in moments when we have had a lot of injuries. But the atmosphere within the club is fantastic and we are ready to fight,” Klopp said about the most recent bout of injuries. "There is no time to think, 'Oh my God' when a player is injured, it is about finding a solution.”
