Any interest in the FA Cup may have disappeared for Liverpool after being knocked out by Wolverhampton Wanderers, but Leicester City’s Fifth Round tie with Millwall does have consequences for Jürgen Klopp’s side. If tomorrow’s game results in a draw, Liverpool’s fixture against Leicester City will be moved.
Liverpool are currently scheduled to play Leicester on Monday, Febuary 27 at 8PM BST/3PM EST, but a replay between Leicester and Millwall would see that fixture moved to Saturday, February 25 at 12.30PM BST/ 7.30AM EST.
For Liverpool, the best result would be a draw so that Leicester City would have a couple of days fewer rest after their Champions League last 16 first leg against Sevilla. An earlier fixture would also provide a full week of rest and recovery before taking on Arsenal at Anfield.
Whether the game is on Saturday or Monday, there won’t be much in the way of excuses for a Liverpool squad that has two weeks to rest, train, and prepare instead of fighting in domestic and continental cups.
