Sadio Mané and Adam Lallana Likely to Face Southampton

Chances are good both will be fit enough to at least make cameo appearances on the weekend.

Liverpool fans have spent the past few days worried about the injury status of Sadio Mané after the Senegalese star returned from international duty having re-aggravated the hamstring injury that had kept him sidelined for most of the past month.

It appears, though, to have been less serious than feared, and though the player will be given the next two days off from training to rest and recover, there is hope and expectation that he will be able to take part in practice on Friday and the game on Saturday.

The news is similarly positive for Adam Lallana, who made it through a closed doors friendly unscathed on Tuesday and is, according to The Liverpool Echo, desperate to return as soon as possible. Jordan Henderson is also said to be nearing full fitness.

Meanwhile, there was some concern about the status of Philippe Coutinho, who appeared to struggle towards the end of his 60-minute appearance with Brazil on Tuesday, but it would appear there are no real concerns about his fitness status.

It all adds up to a situation where, aside from Nathaniel Clyne, Jürgen Klopp could have a fully fit first team squad to work with, if not perhaps by Saturday and Southampton then at the latest by the time they face Sevilla on Tuesday.
