Liverpool have confirmed that while Adam Lallana has returned to full training at Melwood following a spell in Qatar over the international break where the attacking midfielder worked on a solo warm weather training camp program as he nears a return to action.
Though he wasn’t in contention to travel with the squad Slovenia ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League tie against Maribor, he is expected to be ready to join his teammates in training at some point over the next week or two as he targets a return to action.
Tottenham on Sunday will certainly be too soon for that, but it’s possible Lallana will see his first action of the 2017-18 season before November’s international break, with Huddersfield and West Ham in the league and a second game against Maribor possibilities.
Whenever Lallana does make his Liverpool return in the coming weeks, England boss Gareth Southgate has reportedly agreed not to call on Lallana for the November international break that follows the game against West Ham on the fourth of November.
Instead, Lallana will be allowed to remain at Melwood during the November break after—if all goes to plan—being eased back into the matchday squad at some point over the next three weeks.
