Adam Lallana, long injured and longer beloved, has taken his next step in returning to us. The midfielder flew to Qatar to continue his rehabilitation from the thigh injury he sustained in August. In the middle of his recovery schedule, Lallana got to meet former Barcelona legend, Xavi Hernandez, who escaped the liars for Qatari side Al Sadd in 2015.

The meeting appears to have gone well, judging by Lallana’s Instagram post, although there is no indication of whether or not Barcelona’s incredibly tired (and never-ending) pursuit of Coutinho was discussed.

Annoying press statements by giant Spanish clubs aside, it looks like Lallana’s recovery is well on track and he’s still expected to return by the end of this month. Klopp seemed equally pleased about Lallana’s rehabilitation when he spoke about it before the international break.

"He has no problems anymore,” the boss said. “We just have to wait until the tendon is a tendon again, if you want. You cannot rush this. But so far, no setbacks and everything is fine.”
