For players not involved in international action, the first month of the summer is often a time for vacation and relaxation after a long season of work.

Jürgen Klopp's squad isn't due back until the pre-season begins in July. But Joe Gomez, whose promising debut season at Anfield was derailed by a season ending ACL injury, has continued to train at Melwood even though most of teammates are not there with him, according to the Echo.

The defender joined Liverpool last summer from Charlton Athletic for an initial fee of £3.5 million and played both center back and full back at the start of this past season.

Gomez made seven appearances before his campaign was cut short, and he's worked hard over the past eight months to get himself back onto the pitch. As a result of that effort, he'll be ready to participate fully in Liverpool's upcoming pre-season tour.

James Pearce writes that the club's staff "speak in glowing terms about his professionalism" in regards to his rehabilitation process.
