As the season enters its penultimate month, we can start to look back at the turbulent 2015-16 season and reflect on its best moments and performances. Although the club as a whole has been wildly inconsistent (when not injured), there have still been some fantastic goals and games from the Redmen.
Philippe Coutinho in particular has scored some memorable goals, and put in some breathtaking shifts, and has been rewarded with four nominations in the Goal of the Season category, and two nominations in the Performance of the Season category for Liverpool's end of season awards. Coutinho leads the way in both categories.
In the Goal of the Season category, Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge each earned two nominations, and Christian Benteke and Martin Skrtel each grabbed a nomination of their own for their respective thunderous volleys against the two Manchester sides.
Coutinho's two Performance of the Year nominations were for his performances against Chelsea and Manchester City away. Roberto Firmino was also recognized for his two-goal performance against Arsenal, Adam Lallana was nominated for his goal and assist against Manchester City at home, and Mamadou Sakho rounds out the category for his defensive steel against Manchester United in the second leg of the Europa League tie.
The end-of-season award ceremony will not actually take place after the season ends, but on May 12th. Also, since the players can't be recognized for any accomplishments here on out, I guess Firmino won't have an incentive to score a hat trick against Dortmund Thursday night. Thanks a lot, award show organizers. Regardless, fans can vote for their favorite player and moments here.
