It’s been a disappointing few weeks for Liverpool, who only managed to grab one point out of six from two winnable games against Bournemouth and West Ham. However, December offers no shortage of opportunities to turn their fortunes around, and Sadio Mané is looking for his team to get back to winning ways against Middlesbrough on Wednesday.
About dropping two points against West Ham, the Senegalese winger was philosophical when he spoke to the official website.
“I think honestly, these kind of moments can happen in football.
“I think if you look back at the game then we should have won, because we created many chances and scored two goals, but [also] conceded two. I think we are on a good way and we will try to do our best for the next game and to win it.
“Everybody was a little bit disappointed, because we should have won the game. But don’t forget we have many games so we have to concentrate and focus on the next ones and try to win. I know it was not easy for us, but it can happen in football.”
Despite these setbacks, Liverpool clearly are “on a good way” at the moment. With Arsenal falling to Everton on Tuesday, a win at the Riverside Stadium would see them pull level at second place with the Gunners.
“We are football professionals, we know this kind of moment can happen. I think it’s normal - in the dressing room everybody is quite the same,” Mané added.
“We have another important game on Wednesday, so at the moment everybody is looking forward to this game. We will do our best to win.”
