19-year-old winger and highly touted prospect Ryan Kent has been recalled from loan and is set to make his first team debut in the FA Cup against Exeter City next Friday, according to the Mirror. The loan deal with Coventry City was initially set to run through January 16, but due to injury concerns and a busy schedule Jürgen Klopp elected to bring back the youngster ahead of schedule.
By all accounts, Kent's first taste of professional action at Coventry went according to plan, and the Echo report that he received a standing ovation in the dressing room after his final match with the team. He racked up 17 appearances in just a few months of action there.
Now he has a chance to make a major impression on Klopp much like recalled loan player Jordon Ibe made on Brendan Rodgers last season.
"There are a number of injuries and a lot of games so that's why I've been recalled," Kent said. "Hopefully I can make my debut against Exeter in the FA Cup but I'll have to see what happens."
