Devastating news broke from the Liverpool camp this afternoon that captain Jordan Henderson faces another two months out from injury.
The culprit this time is a broken bone in his right foot, unrelated to his ongoing heel issues in his left.
Henderson, who was previously thought to be in contention for tomorrow's Premier League clash with Norwich, was hurt yesterday during training. A scan today confirmed the fracture in the midfielder's foot.
According to The Echo, he will undergo minor surgery on Monday, and faces a 6 to 8 week layoff as the fracture heals.
The timing could not be worse for the skipper and team alike. Liverpool face a crucial run of games domestically and in Europe, the results of which could easily decide Rodgers' future with the club.
Henderson's on-field leadership and boundless energy will surely be missed in the next two months, and we all wish him a speedier than average recovery.
