Sturridge Close to Liverpool Return, Shares Training Video

After Liverpool sold Luis Suarez to Barcelona last summer, Daniel Sturridge was expected to continue his own ludicrous goal scoring form at the head of the team's attack. Unfortunately, injuries derailed his season to the point that many supporters have lost faith in his long-term ability to stay healthy and produce, and in May he underwent surgery on his hip. The club itself has seemed to move forward from Sturridge, and Christian Benteke has been brought in to be Liverpool's new go-to striker.

Still, there remains the buried hope that Sturridge can return at some point and get back to his 2013/14 season form. The Echo reports that he will return to Melwood for training over the next week and is on course to make a comeback to the first team after next month's international break. The most important thing for Sturridge is to not rush back, as he can't afford another long injury setback.

He posted an encouraging video of himself doing some agility work before unleashing a fantastic left-footed strike in training.

Let's hope we see that again at Anfield when he's ready to return.
