Liverpool midfielder James Milner, a frequent member of the first team this season, will miss his team's match against Crystal Palace with a hamstring injury picked up against Rubin Kazan during the week.
Milner left the Kazan match early in discomfort and will also miss both of England's friendlies in the next week, according to the Echo.
It's not yet known exactly how long Milner will be out for, but his absence is a surprising development after Jürgen Klopp seemed confident in his fitness in his pre-match presser.
"In Kazan, he had not the best moment with his muscle," said Klopp. "But he's an experienced player, and it was nothing serious and in this moment he can train."
Despite an uneven run of performances, Milner has a goal and three assists so for this season, and his pressing ability figures to be a key part of his manager's tactical plans in the future.
