It's been a whirlwind day for Liverpool supporters -- first an important clash with Everton, then the news of Brendan Rodgers' sacking. The focus is now on who will replace Rodgers, and according to reports, the lead candidate for the position is former Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Echo reports that Liverpool will approach Klopp in the coming days to offer him its now vacant managerial position. Additionally, the Echo writes that Klopp is eager to hold talks with the club, leading many to believe that he will cut his sabbatical short to manage Liverpool.

Other candidates include Carlo Ancelotti and Frank de Boer, but Klopp is viewed as the clear number one choice for Liverpool, according to the report.

Liverpool's next match is on October 17th against Tottenham, and one would expect the club to reach a deal with a new manager before that date.
