Liverpool's brief visit to Australia will wrap up tonight after they face Adelaide United, leaving just two fixtures between the preseason and the start of the Premier League campaign. It's been a successful trip thus far, and there should be plenty more to learn over the next three matches before Brendan Rodgers' side head to Stoke City to get their season underway officially.
Before they get there they'll look to get another positive result against an Adelaide United side that finished third in the A-League last season and managed to make their way into the semifinals of the Finals Series before falling 4-1 to eventual runners-up Sydney FC. Adelaide's third-place finish means they're set for AFC Champions League qualification via the playoff round, their first appearance since 2012.
It represents a gradual progression in the quality of opposition since the start of the preseason, and Rodgers will likely shuffle his personnel once again. Those who have already featured regularly on the tour should again get minutes, with the likes of Lazar Markovic and Dejan Lovren shuffled in, and by the time Liverpool return to Merseyside Rodgers will be able to call upon the likes of Christian Benteke, Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho, and Emre Can.
For now, though, it's another chance for those present to get closer to match fitness, and for supporters to enjoy the club and show out in impressive fashion yet again.
