The European Championship and, more controversially, Copa America both began this week, and Liverpool players came out of their respective matches with mixed results.
Brazil started off their campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over Venezuela. Alisson played all 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet. His Liverpool compatriot Fabinho featured as a substitute in the last five minutes of the game. Roberto Firmino was an unused substitute.
In Euros action, Thiago Alcantara came on for Spain in the 66th minute to play out a disappointing 0-0 draw against Sweden.
Wales and Switzerland also came away splitting the points in their match Group A match up. Neco Williams was an unused sub for Wales, while Xherdan Shaqiri played 66 minutes for Switzerland. The 1-1 scoreline means that the question of who will go through along with Italy remains very much in play.
Scotland were left at the bottom of Group D with a 2-0 loss to the Czech Republic. Captain Andy Robertson played all 90 minutes.
England came out on top in their match against Croatia, though neither of Trent Alexander-Arnold nor Jordan Henderson was fit to play in it.
