World Cup qualifiers continued in Europe. For the Netherlands, captain Gini Wijnaldum got one assist and scored a goal of his own as the Dutch beat poor Gibraltar 7-0. After three matches, the Netherlands are second in Group G behind Ozan Kabak’s Turkey.

Diogo Jota also helped Portugal snatch a come from behind victory against Luxembourg. Jota scored the equalizer that began the comeback which ended with Portugal winning 3-1. Once again, as with his match winner for Liverpool against Wolves, this goal was scored at 45+2’, right before halftime. Jota came off the pitch on 68’.
Portugal now stands top of Group A with seven points from three games.
A continent away, Sadio Mane made a late sub appearance in Senegal’s final game in 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifying. The match ended in a 1-1 drawn with Eswatini, but Senegal already won their group going into the game.
Ozan Kabak played 90 minutes for Turkey in their 3-3 draw with Latvia. The single point was barely enough to keep them on top of the table. Neco Williams also put in 90’ and helped Wales win their second group stage match 1-0 against the Czech Republic. The victory put them only one point before the Czech Republic with a game in hand.
