WORLD CUP 2018 | DAY FIFTEEN

GROUP H
Senegal vs. Colombia | 3PM BST/10AM EST
Japan vs. Poland | 3PM BST/10AM EST
GROUP G
England vs. Belgium | 7PM BST/2PM EST
Panama vs. Tunisia | 7PM BST/2PM EST

It’s the final day of group action and Group H kicks it off with three countries still alive and everything to play for. For Liverpool fans, the game to watch has Sadio Mané and Senegal taking on Colombia. Senegal has four points, Colombia has three, and a win or draw for the African nation carries them through. In the other game, Japan—also on four points—need a result to be safe while Poland play for pride. As in wild end to Group F action on Wednesday that saw Germany knocked out, the possible permutations are many and confusing, but all three contenders know a win is certain to get them through.

Then it’s Group G closing things out, and there isn’t much drama here. The English and the Belgians are through and will play to find out who they face in the Round of 16, with the winner getting the Group H runner up while the runner up faces Group H’s winner. About the most exciting part of the match—that it might be better off to lose, that England are expected to run out a heavily changed side for, and that no one really seems much excited about—might be that with the two countries level on points, goal differential, and goals scored, a draw would lead to Fair Play ranking deciding who tops the group.
