Liverpool and Nehterlands midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum gave a positive report today following his departure from training on Wednesday afternoon after he took a blow to the head and had to be checked out by the national team’s physios.

Following the blow and his departure, there were fears he could be missing for this weekend’s World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria or, perhaps, for even longer. The player, though, says there are no issues and he has been cleared for action.

“When I got up I felt sick,” Wijnaldum told the Dutch media today while sitting watching his teammates practice. “The doctor took me straight from the pitch. Fortunately, it’s a bit better. The nausea went away quickly so there is no problem.”

Wijnaldum was held out of today’s training session as a precaution. The Netherlands take on Bulgaria on Saturday at 7:45PM GMT/3:45PM EST. They also have a friendly set for Tuesday against Italy before the players return to their clubs.
