With the 2016 Euros coming up in a few months, the March international break mostly means friendlies for Liverpool’s players off on duty with their national teams. Today’s action brings with it one marquee friendly match between the Netherlands and France, as well as one game that does matter—Brazil vs. Uruguay in a CONMEBOL World Cup qualification match.
It may just be a friendly, but Netherlands vs. France looks a marquee match even when there’s nothing on the line. Liverpool fans will be watching to see how Mamadou Sakho does now that he’s getting minutes at the club level and back in the fold for his country head of the summer’s Euros, with the defender expected to start today.

CONMEBOL are already kicking off qualification for the next Wold Cup, and Brazil vs. Uruguay is a must-see match. Plus, with Philippe Coutinho in the Brazil squad, there’s an easy reason for Liverpool fans to pay attention. Coutinho, though, may not start for Brazil given he was a late addition to Dunga’s squad. Ex-Red Luis Suarez, on the other hand, will certainly start for Uruguay.

Keeping track of Liverpool’s other players off on international duty this week, Dejan Lovren went the full 90 for Croatia on Wednesday as they defeated Israel 2-0, Joe Allen and Danny Ward made second half appearances in Wales' 1-1 draw with Northern Ireland, and Martin Skrtel and Slovakia will take on Latvia in a friendly today at 8:30PM GMT/4:30PM EST.
