Liverpool’s September Internationals: Preview, Streaming, and Ways to Watch England vs. Switzerland and Scotland vs. Germany

Keeping track of all the Liverpool players off on international duty from September 6th to 8th.

The second week of friendlies kick off Sunday. Most of our Liverpool players can be happy with how their games turned out, with England, England U21s, Belgium, Germany and Brazil all clocking victories. Croatia came up with a tame 0-0 with Azerbaijan, but any game where Dejan Lovren doesn't do something terrible to concede a goal is a good game. Only Martin Skrtel's Slovakia lost their game against Spain. The big man himself, usually the captain for his country, didn't feature due to a suspension.

The most fascinating game of this bunch will be Danny Ward and Jordan Williams' Wales attempting to extend their excellent, Gareth Bale-inspired run of form in these qualifiers. They now sit atop their group, with Belgium a full three points behind them.

For Belgium, Mignolet is once again likely stuck to the bench, but we may see some of Christian Benteke after the big striker was out of the previous game with a thigh injury. We'll hold our breath that he's well looked after either way. Divock Origi got a few minutes of action at the end of the game, and we may see the same again. Croatia is level on points with Italy in Group H, but have nearly triple the goal difference as a cushion. Still, they'll likely need to get a good result against a tough Norway side or face being overtaken by Italy, who are facing Bulgaria.

Emre Can made his senior debut for Germany and put in a solid 90 minutes as right back. He'll likely get another opportunity to prove his mettle against Scotland when the team travels to Glasgow. Elsewhere in Europe, the England u21s begin their Euro 2017 qualifying with a game against Norway. Joe Gomez and Jordon Ibe both made their U21 debuts in the win against the USA this past Thursday, and there is a good chance we'll see Gareth Southgate give the young duo another chance in a more competitive match.

Slovakia have their captain back, and Liverpool fans will get the opportunity to see center back Martin Skrtel lead his country against Ukraine. They'll be looking to protect their second place position and possible look to jump into first, depending on the result of Spain's clash with Macedonia.

After the now apparently obligatory thrashing of San Marino, England will look for a victory against a more formidable Switzerland side. Nathaniel Clyne and James Milner both featured for England, and are likely to start again. Milner was subbed off after only 58 minutes in the last fixture, which Liverpool fans will appreciate. However, it's unlikely that Switzerland will be kind enough to concede three goals in the first half, like San Marino, and allow Roy Hodgson to save tired legs.

If you're still up at the end of all that, Coutinho and Firmino's Brazil travel to the United States for a friendly. The newly recalled Coutinho got about 25 minutes under his belt against Costa Rica on Saturday, but Firmino didn't feature at all. Hopefully he'll get his chance in Massachusetts.
