With a few already in the books, attention turns to a slightly busy weekend, with four international matches with a Liverpool interest across the two days. Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling made it through England's comfortable win over Lithuania unscathed, with the latter registering an assist and his first international goal, and further success--and health--is now the focus for the club's remaining internationals.

With the finals of Euro 2016 welcoming 24 teams rather than the traditional 16, the field can be expected to include a handful of new faces. Among those in running--at least for the time being--are surprise Group B frontrunners Israel and second-placed Wales, who sit just a point behind. With World Cup participants Bosnia and Herzegovina in the group along with a talented Belgium side, few would have expected the current top two to be in the qualifying places after four rounds of play.
Now they square off in Haifa, with the hosts looking to remain in the Group lead and the visitors looking to leapfrog their opposition and remain unbeaten. Liverpool's Joe Allen should be in the starting eleven for manager Chris Coleman's side, which will also include the likes of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, and Ashley Williams. A loss here wouldn't be catastrophic, but any sort of points would provide another step toward their first major final of the modern era.
Belgium v. Cyprus

Simon Mignolet is only just back in training for the Belgians, who will be expected to easily take a full three points at home against a Cyprus side that have, taken six points from their first four matches. If he is passed fit, Mignolet will likely play backup to Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois, who's cemented his place as Belgium's number one for most of the past two years. Like Wales, Belgium can go past their opponent today with a win, and in a tight Group B, maximum points will be viewed as necessary.

Despite his improved form, there was only disappointment for Philippe Coutinho against France on Thursday evening, when he failed to make it off the bench in their 3-1 win. As was expected, he wasn't preferred for the starting eleven, but most expected that he would at least make an appearance, especially considering his string of excellent performances for Liverpool in the new year. He's got another chance on Sunday, at least, as he could come into Dunga's decision-making when they face Chile at the Emirates. Coutinho isn't quite yet to the level that he's going to be fighting for a starting spot, but it would be nice to see him given time here, and for the rest of the Premier League season to offer him further chances to impress.
France v. Denmark

Mamadou Sakho played the entirety of the 3-1 home loss against Brazil, France's first since exiting the World Cup last summer. Without qualification, they're left to play a string of friendlies, and for the most part they've been excellent. And while it's ultimately meaningless, they'll look to rebound quickly against Denmark side that rode a Nicklas Bendtner hat-trick to a 3-2 victory over the United States. No Daniel Agger that time around, so those with a Liverpool-related interest will be left to hope Sakho gets a start.
This will serve as the open thread for those fixtures and more; there's some lower league action to follow over the next few days, as well as a number of other Euro qualifiers going on this weekend. As usual, head to Live Soccer for full schedules and viewing options.
