With a month left in the championship window, transfer rumours are coming at us hot and heavy from just about every possible source. Ask your Aunt Lily, she probably has a Liverpool transfer rumour. #ITK This time, a story from Marca about Villareal’s interest in Bournemouth’s Arnaut Danjuma, mentions Liverpool FC amongst a host of other Premier League clubs serving as competition for the Dutchman. Marca estimates that it would take around £21m to pry his services from Bournemouth.
Signed in early 2020 from Club Brugge, Danjuma was a key player for the South-coast side last season, the versatile (Transfermarkt has him playing seven positions) 24-year-old scored 15 and assisted seven in 33 league games for the Cherries. The player is noted for his versatility, though he lined up primarily in the left-winger position.
This rumour seems to have legs primarily because of Liverpool’s previous success with players signed from relegated/Championship teams. I wouldn’t necessarily be surprised if it happens mostly because he would definitely be accepting of a backup role.
