One of the best parts of the sport we love is seeing local products make it through the ranks. It’s always a long shot for the local youth Academy products to navigate the age groups to make it to the highest levels, especially with clubs the size of Liverpool FC recruiting the brightest young talents domestically and from abroad to come play for them.
While he hasn’t made it to the first team just yet, Luke Chambers has made a big step in his Liverpool career. The Academy lifer, starting with the U9s, signed his first professional contract for Liverpool.
A proud moment for Luke Chambers! ✍️

Chambers, who just recently turned 17, made the jump to the Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s U18 squad last season, serving primarily as a reserve left back. The youngster is known for being an energetic two way player down the left flank, much like current first-teamer Andy Robertson. He scored his first goal at the age level against Burnley in April. With James Norris expected to make the jump to the U23s, Chambers will likely feature as a regular starter for the U18s this season.
Congratulations Luke, and good luck next season!
