The Annual Liverpool Pre-Season Lactate Test: Who Survived?

For those players who have already reported to Liverpool’s pre-season training camp in picturesque Austria, the toughest test may have already come and gone.

The fitness camp traditionally begins with the dreaded lactate test, which pushes players to show the extent of their endurance by increasing speed over time.

While the images (below) capture a lot of smiles, traditionally it is the unstoppable (and ageless) James Milner who steals the show. For our part, though, it’s exciting to see the Reds back in action together as the initial 34-man training camp takes shape.
