Liverpool’s Premier League fixtures will be announced at 9:00 AM BST on Wednesday, June 16. The season will officially kick off on Saturday, August 14, 2021, and the concluding games will be played on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

But before that, there is the usual intense speculation around the business that the club might do this summer. RB Leipzig center-back Ibrahima Konate was announced as the first signing of the summer transfer window, which opened officially on Wednesday, June 9. The window will close at 11:00 PM BST on Tuesday, August 31.

With the departure of workhorse midfielder Gini Wijnaldum for Paris Saint-Germain, there are concerns that midfield depth might be lacking, especially considering the number of minutes Gini put in on the field on a regular basis, and Michael Edwards’ team have more than two months to address that.

The things we more or less unanimously dislike - the international breaks - are scheduled for:

  1. August 30 to September 8
  2. October 4-13
  3. November 8-16
  4. January 24 to February 2
  5. March 21-30.

Notable among these, is the CAF Africa Cup of Nations which is set to be held in January 2022, and will presumably see Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita feature for their respective countries.

Liverpool’s Champions League group-stage matches will be played on:

  1. September 14/15
  2. September 28/29
  3. October 19/20
  4. November 2/3
  5. November 23/24
  6. December 7/8.
