When it comes to transfer news in Germany there’s one dude who knows everything and his name is Christian Falk. The Bild journalist has been all over the on going Ibrahima Konaté saga. Earlier this week a rumour popped up that Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho was loosely linked with a move to Liverpool.
However exciting of a prospect that is, Falk thinks it’s highly unlikely this summer.
“That’s not true with one caveat.” Falk told Sports Witness. “Kopp/Sancho has been around for a while now, and of course, everyone would have loved it to play out like that, but to Liverpool, this summer is not feasible.
“Of course, they can still get in the Champions League, but if they miss out, they will miss out on extra income, so I say that will be nixed this summer.”
We know this week that the Liverpool finances are pretty dire because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and they’ll likely get worse if the Reds can’t qualify for the Champions League. So big spending like Sancho doesn’t seem likely.
