So there’s a new league in town and everyone (including the Liverpool FC Supporters Union) is pretty disgusted by everything about it. We know very little about what any of this is going to look like and what it’s going to mean for UEFA and FIFA competitions. What we do know, however, is that the European Super League—a league named without a hint of irony, it seems—have not yet selected an anthem. Here’s a non-exhaustive list of our suggestions:
1. This song covers the main features of the Super League in great detail and—just for kicks (ha)—throws in a reference to a ball. Same vibes as the league.
2. Beyond the general vibes of this song, I really just want everyone to read this Mads Mikkelsen interview about what he knows of Rihanna and his favourite Rihanna song.
3. This one is ironic.
Listen, it’s all bad. But it was all always going to be bad. That’s just what happens when the only thing that matters in sports is money. There are no good guys here, and there likely won’t be when the dust settles, either.
