LIVERPOOL VS REAL MADRID

| Wednesday, April 14th |
Champions League | Anfield
8PM BST/3PM EST

In many ways, our current pandemic-stricken nightmare began when a team from Madrid showed up to Anfield and flipped the script. Today, we have a chance to reverse fate, certainly of our football team, but possibly for the rest of the world? I’m not saying that Liverpool results control the world. But I’m not not saying that either.

The most straight-forward way for the Reds to go through is with a 2-0 win. A 3-1 win would mean extra time, where we were reminded last year that away goals still count, and possibly penalties. It’s a narrow path to victory, but not an insurmountable one. Then again, if we concede early, it could be a long night, especially without 50,000 Scouse lunatics screaming at the top of their lungs.

But if we go through, a semifinal date with Chelsea—ahead of a final in Istanbul—awaits. And if that doesn’t send chills down your spine, I suggest you give up on football altogether.
