22-year old Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard is currently on loan at Arsenal from Real Madrid. He arrived in January and became a part of Mikel Arteta’s lineup. And his impressive form might lead to a hike in his transfer price according to the Daily Star.
Liverpool are allegedly willing to enter the race to sign Odegaard, if Real Madrid decides not to offer him a long-term future at the Spanish club. His loan deal with Arsenal currently has no option for the Londoners to buy him outright.
Currently valued at £30m, his price could go up to £50m.
Liverpool may be looking to boost their midfield this summer, particularly due to the imminent departure of Dutchman Gini Wijnaldum - if the long-running rumors associated with him materialize.
A £50m price tag for the young Norwegian however may not be entertained by Michael Edwards’ prudent team, regardless of his stellar future potential.
Arsenal may also have to fend off interest from cash-rich clubs like Chelsea and Paris Saint-German.
