For a few years we were able to forget that footballing gravity exists. We were, in essence, Willie E. Coyote post running off a cliff, pre looking down. And now we’re making up for lost time. Or last gravity. Or something.

Dani Rojas says football is life. This much is true.

But life is pain.

Football is pain.

Last year we got out of Bramall Lane with all three points because of a good bit of fortune. Last season we had many bits of good fortune. Plus we weren’t in a pandemic and our players weren’t dropping like flies. Hopefully we won’t need to be as fortunate today as last year. Because obviously that sort of good fortune just isn’t happening for the Reds lately.

But Lee Mason is out as today’s 4th official. That’s something. Then again, Jon Fucking Moss is going to be in the center circle for this one (and given his age and lack of mobility, not far outside of it).
