It always seems like there’s always something happening at Liverpool FC’s Academy. Liverpool FC’s Under-23s Assistant Manager Gary O’Neil has left the club after six months on the job to take on a first-team coaching role with Bournemouth. He will be joining Jonathan Woodgate’s staff after the former defender was appointed as manager of the Cherries until the end of the season.

Gary had a longer playing career, plying his trade as a midfielder for Portsmouth, Middlesbrough, West Ham United and Bolton Wanderers amongst others. He was appointed to the U23s Assistant Manager role in August last year, to assist fellow new appointee Barry Lewtas, after Neil Critchley left to take charge of Blackpool.

Here’s wishing Gary all the best as he takes on a new and exciting challenge at Bournemouth. The South Coast club will be looking to make its return to the top flight sooner rather than later.
