Speaking to the press ahead of Saturday’s game at Vicarage Park against Watford, Liverpool FC manager Jürgen Klopp spoke on the availability of a few players, in particular Trent Alexander-Arnold, Diogo Jota, and Thiago Alcantara.

“So it looks really like Trent and Diogo will be fine, they will train with us tomorrow completely normal, that’s the plan.

“Thiago needs probably a little bit longer, [he] was not in team training yet – that’s always not a good sign for starting the next game.

“And the rest [of the] international [players], some are back, obviously some are not back yet. And we will see.”

Diogo Jota had sat out all of his country’s fixtures in the past week, while Alexander-Arnold had missed Liverpool’s games against FC Porto and Manchester City due to a groin muscle issue. Thiago Alcantara was expected to be back after the break but that’s not going to be the case as he hasn’t returned to training yet. However, the midfielder did post an Instagram story of him exercising, an encouraging sign as he continues to recover from a calf injury sustained against Crystal Palace.
