Daniel Sturridge has signed with Perth Glory with the ex-Liverpool striker set to join the A-League side for the 2021-22 season. The 32-year-old has been without a club since his contract with Turkish team Trabzonspor in March following a global four-month ban breaching betting rules.
Sturridge made his name at Anfield following an abortive stint of Chelsea, earning Premier League winners medal in London before scoring 68-goals and winning the Champions League in six seasons for the Reds.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity to try a new challenge,” Sturridge said a statement following the signing. “When the opportunity came about, it felt like the right thing to do.”
All the best of luck for a forever Red.
