Before you ask, no he doesn’t play center-back. Sky Sports reports that Liverpool FC is closing in on the signing of Derby County youngster Kaide Gordon, with the deal expected to be completed today. It’s for an initial fee of £1 million+, with the potential cost of the transfer rising to £3 million.
A central attacking midfielder, Gordon can also play on the flanks as a winger, and is generally considered one of the best prospects at his position and age. Like one Harvey “The Child” Elliot, he’s left-footed and often plays on the right-wing. Hopefully, the coaches can develop him to play in a different position from Harv. He’s expected to play for Liverpool’s Under-18s when he joins, and will hopefully continue his sparkling form for Derby’s U18s with three goals in five appearances to his name.
With Harvey Elliott, Billy Koumetio, Marcelo Pitaluga, and soon... Kaide Gordon under their ranks, I think it’s safe to say that Liverpool FC’s kids are truly alright.
