The UEFA Fans’ Team of The Year voting results are out, and two Liverpool FC players have made the cut. They are Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara.
Yes, lads! @VirgilvDijk and @Thiago6 have been named in UEFA's Fans' Men's #TeamOfTheYear pic.twitter.com/liPXhlayFP

The two of them are joined Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, and Sergio Ramos at the back. Kevin De Bruyne and Lionel Messi make up the rest of the midfield, whilst the attacking trio features Neymar, Robert Lewandowski and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Sadio Mane, Andy Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Alisson Becker are the names from last year’s squad missing from this year... although it’s hard to argue that the Bayern players don’t deserve their spots after winning an European Cup plus Domestic League and Cup treble. Thiago’s certainly there because of his play for them, while Virgil’s inclusion serves as a reminder of his stature in the world game. The only minor quibble I have is Kimmich played most of his minutes at the Central Defensive Midfielder position and not at Right Back, but eh, it’s fan voting. Congratulations again to our players for making it!
