The Reds are wrapping up their short, makeshift preseason against a team that gave them two very good games in last year’s Champions League, RB Salzburg. Of course Salzburg will be without two of their biggest threats from last year—literally and figuratively—after Erling Håland and Takumi Minamino moved on.

On Minamino, Liverpool’s second-most recent addition was one of the stand-out performances against Stuttgart on Saturday, and will undoubtedly be eager to make a mark against his former club this afternoon. Taki has yet to score a goal in any competition for Liverpool, including friendlies, so a goal today would do him a world of good.

It is unclear whether Klopp will roll out two separate XIs for the first and second half, like he did last time out. During normal pre-seasons, Kloppo prefers to build toward 90 minutes of game time, but obviously that isn’t an option here. However, with the Community Shield coming up on Saturday, it might be wise to extend most of the first team to at least the 60 minute mark before making sweeping changes. We will see.
