As Liverpool heads off to Austria to start their preseason training, there’s still transfer news afoot. In an ideal world, Liverpool’s business is done by the the start of preseason but that’s just not going to happen in the current climate. Liverpool have already sold Dejan Lovren and brought in Kontas Tsimikas for roughly the same price for cover at Leftback. We might see more outgoings before anymore incomings happens.
One outgoing that has bubbled up in the news today is that apparently Aston Villa is targeting Reds forward Divock Origi according to the Mirror. The side from Birmingham are set for another summer of big spending after staying in the Premier League. The report says that Villa is linked with several forwards rated around £20m and that the club would want Origi for a similar price.
The Belgian forward obviously is a cult hero for Liverpool fans, but criticism about consistency for the deputy forward abounds. Liverpool still have a problem about who and how to play when one of the Front Three aren’t in the lineup. Liverpool has been linked with Watford forward Ismaïla Sarr.
