Liverpool are the best team in Europe. The barrier to entry to play for Jürgen Klopp is extremely high, and Pedro Chirivella realizes that getting to play for them and train at Melwood is an incredible opportunity for his career.
Recently, in an interview with Marca, Chirivella, who made domestic cup appearances for the Reds, talked about it.
“It has helped me grow personally. I am in the best team in Europe and with the best coach in the world,” he said.
“Every minute you play and, above all, each day of training that you share with all of them allows you to improve. So this season has been very important. It is the best squad in Europe. The midfield is a very high level, world-class players and it is very difficult to enter. Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum – spectacular footballers from whom [I am] proud to learn every day. I try to fix on everyone to improve.”
The football is over for now, so it doesn’t matter, but Liverpool fell out of both domestic cups early, so even if this was a normal season, we likely wouldn’t have seen Chirivella on the pitch again.
However, his positive outlook is a credit to him, and while it’s hard to imagine him carving a place for himself in the first team, hopefully his growth here and on loan will ensure him a bright future.
