Dimitar Berbatov is a Manchester United legend. He’s won cups and leagues with Liverpool’s fiercest rivals. He’s even won a Premier League golden boot. So, when he says something about Liverpool your natural reaction might be to roll your eyes. That’s understandable, considering the nonsense that comes from some former United players-turned-pundits. But this time, I think we should listen to what he has to say.
Berbatov recently spoke with Betfair (cited by the Mail) about the season Liverpool was having... You know, before a global pandemic broke out.
“People are suggesting to give the title to Liverpool, and honestly they deserve it the way they had been playing, nobody was going to catch them,” The former United forward said. “With the way they play their games, the football they produced and how far they are in front, they fully deserve the title this season.
“It’s so strange, and it will be unfair on them (Liverpool) if the season is voided, they will be so disappointed.”
It should be said that no serious proposal has come out that considers voiding the Premier League season. Especially after the meetings that the PL had on Friday.
