Atletico Madrid Star Talks About Liverpool Preparation

Koke is pretty sure that Liverpool aren’t going to be easy to defeat despite recent losses.

If you pay attention to any pundit who has an axe to grind with Liverpool, their season was destroyed when they lost that one game against Watford and then the FA Cup match against Chelsea and there’s now way the team will recover from this unprecedented event. And while it’s true that this Liverpool team definitely isn’t used to losing, it’s probably not worth any of their opponents writing them off just yet. Atletico Madrid star, Koke, definitely agrees.

“Yes, they have lost games, but that has no influence on the Champions League,” Koke said after Atletico’s recent draw against Sevilla. “We go to Liverpool with confidence, as there is a place in the last eight at stake. They are a great team, and it will be very difficult.

“Liverpool are going to be champions in England, and of course I would like Atletico to be at that level,” he added. “We have to learn lessons from the defeat in Turin last year, as it will take a great effort to go through.”

Atletico will travel to Liverpool on Wednesday for the second leg of the Round of 16 tie, where they are currently leading 1-0 on aggregate. Liverpool will have the magic of Anfield on their side, but even more fortuitously, will likely have both Andy Robertson and Jordan Henderson back from injury and available for the match.
