Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been an absolute smash since being signed from Roma. He seemed to be the missing glue in the Red attack, instantly melding with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane to form one of the most effervescent attacks the entire Premier League.
Unlike some other signings, Salah has basically been at the top of Jurgen Klopp’s team sheet from the beginning. And in that time, Salah has racked up not only goals but appearances.
In fact, this weekend, Mo is set to make his 100th league appearance for the Reds. As the official site has noted, he’s already the holder of most goals scored before their 100th appearances for the Reds in the top flight. If the Egyptian international were to bag a hat trick, though, he’d be able to equal Roger Hunt’s record of 72 goals in the first 100 league appearances across all divisions.
That might be a bit of a tall ask at present, given that the Reds and the attack in particular seem to have hit a bit of a wall in their last few matches. Still, there are few players I would feel as comfortable betting to notch a hat trick in a random match than Mo.
Here’s hoping that Salah is able to find the back of the net at least a few times to guide the Reds to victory. If it’s a hat trick, then that’d be the cherry on top.
