For those of us living in countries battling the coronavirus pandemic, the route to victory is simple: the virus can’t spread if we all dramatically cut our interaction with other people and isolate in our homes. While the cabin fever many of us feel in this time of social distancing may feel difficult to endure, it doesn’t compare to the sacrifices doctors, nurses and pharmacists are making on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.
Thousands of those who’ve suffered from the virus have recovered due to the dedication of medical professionals around the globe. As an English club, Liverpool released a short video online, acknowledging the selfless individuals working for the National Health Service or the NHS, as well as healthcare workers around the word, working tirelessly to save lives.
As a global club, many of the players and coaches hail from around the world, with the video taking the format of a montage of Reds thanking medical professionals in their native tongues.
Liverpool’s coronation as Premier League champions placed briefly on hold but there is a more important competition to win: Outside is closed. Stay home, save lives.
