Premier League matches look, for the most part, set to continue amid the spread of the novel coronavirus. In fact, this weekend’s matches will be set to continue with fans in attendance.
In terms of charity matches, though, the club has decided to quash those in the immediate term for the time being. In a statement released today, the club have announced that they are postponing a March 28th friendly at Anfield between Liverpool legends and Barcelona legends. The match was set to benefit the LFC Foundation.
The announcement includes a statement from the LFC Foundation’s director, Matt Parish, asking everyone to hold on to their ticket. The hope is that the match will be rescheduled once the travel embargoes due to the spread of COVID-19 have dropped.
No expectation yet on the new date of the match as the entire situation surrounding this public health crisis is fluid. The club have encouraged those with further questions to reach out to the Fan Services division of the operations.
