Nat Phillips is a very interesting Liverpool player. Since the injuries to just about every defender on Liverpool’s roster, the 23 year-old has become a valuable player for Jurgen Klopp. Last season Phillips spent time on loan in Germany, coming back for just one Liverpool game during the winter. Now he’s seen a string of Premier League starts. He opened up to the official club website about a chat he had with the Liverpool manager.

“Nothing formal other than over the summer.” Said Phillips. “We obviously didn’t really know what was happening then, that was the last formal chat we had with regards to what my plan was and obviously the situation was completely different then.

“Since then, we’ve had the odd exchange of words. If it looks like I’m going to be playing at the weekend he’ll just ask me if I feel that I’m ready.

“And like I said before, he just tells me to enjoy myself and play my game like he knows that I can do.”

What a turn around for Phillips career.
