Singer Lana Del Rey dropped an acappella cover of our favourite middle-age man tear-inciting anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” on her Instagram out of the blue. It’s full of vocal theatrics and a nice distraction from everything going on with the world right now. While, that’s probably not all that surprising, the song is after all a Rodgers and Hammerstein classic in its own right, LDR’s caption, casually mentions that it’s for “the new documentary about Liverpool x @liverpoolfc”.
The English Champions have certainly had a fair number of documentaries done about them in the last couple of years, and hopefully this particular one will dive deeper into subjects the average fan doesn’t already know.
Just about nothing is known about this upcoming documentary, so it’s anyone’s guess when it’s being released, and where it’s being released. My guess: They had a budget for LDR to get a big-time singer to record a cover, so it’s probably not going to be used once. That means it should be a theme song, so it’ll probably be a series on a big streaming platform like Netflix or Amazon Video.
UPDATE: Said mystery documentary has been revealed.
