The results are in and the fans have spoken. It should come as no surprise that Diogo Jota was chosen as Liverpool’s Standard Chartered Player of the Month. The new recruit scored three goals in his seven appearances, exciting and impressing everyone from fans to pundits to Klopp himself.

“I’m very proud. It’s always a nice thing. I just want to thank the people who voted for me I just wish I can keep working hard and keep getting results for the team, that’s what matters the most,” the Portugal star said of his first Liverpool prize.

While October feels like a lifetime ago, since every day lasts a week in our post-Covid world, the even more impressing thing is that Jota’s top form hasn’t diminished as past Halloween. In fact, he has a good chance of getting another one of those trophies to add to his collection for November as well.

In other voting, Mohamed Salah brought home the Goal of the Month award for the second month running. This time, it was for his strike against Everton. Let’s face it, everyone loves a Goodison goal. The goal in question came from a lovely assist by Yerry Mina, whose block teed the ball up perfectly to Salah’s dangerous left foot.

You can watch all five contenders in the above compilation and see if the fans got it right.
