Liverpool FC have a big Merseyside derby this Saturday, as the Reds head to Goodison Park for the local derby against undefeated Everton. The Reds will finally have a chance to wash away the bitter taste of a 7-2 defeat to Aston Villa, after a week’s worth of international football. Thankfully, the international footy did not result in any new injuries to other members of the squad. Instead, the team will be handed a triple boost with the return of three first-team squad members to training.
Both Sadio Mané and Thiago Alcantara have been spotted back in training on Tuesday, after completing their self-isolation periods their positive coronavirus tests. Thiago’s debut seems like so long ago now, and fans will surely hope to see him playing again sooner rather than later.
Joël Matip also returned to training, this time from a muscular issue. The magnificent giraffe’s height and aerial ability should come in handy against Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who’s in the form of his life at the moment.
