In all fairness, who wouldn’t put Virgil van Dijk’s face on their cover if they had the option? If I was writing a good about horticulture or ornithology, I’d try to find a way to get his face on the front.
It’s no surprise, then, that EA Sports has chosen the PFA Player of the Year and so-to-be Ballon d’Or winner van Dijk to grace the cover of the Champions Edition of FIFA20, which is set to be released at the end of September.

Eden Hazard will be pointing to the Real Madrid badge on his chest on the cover of the standard edition, rubbing salt into Chelsea’s wounds. There’s still one more “ultimate edition” cover star to be revealed in the coming few days.
Van Dijk tweeted his excitement at the news, calling his involvement a “dream come true.”

This is one more feather in the cap of a player whose stock is rising fast in the footballing world. He has the personal accolades as well as the Champions League medal, and with any luck, he’ll add a league trophy to the mix next.
